Philippines: Anti-‘drug battle’ priest charged with sedition
A Catholic priest within the Philippines is about to face trial on prices of “conspiracy to commit sedition” over an alleged plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
Father Flavie Villanueva is a fierce critic of the president’s “battle on medication”, which since July 2016 has seen 1000’s killed in police operations.
He has been accused, alongside 10 others, of being behind a viral video sequence that the federal government says tarnished the president’s popularity.
Father Flavie denies the fees.
